Bath & Body Works X Blues

Bath & Body Works

Bath & Body Works is an American Retail store which was founded in 1990. It specializes in shower gels, lotions, fragrance mists, perfumes, candles, and home fragrances. Initially it was only in the US and then it expanded to Canada and so on and now Singapore. If I am not wrong, they opened 2 stores this year. One in Marina Bay Sands and the other at Takashimaya.

I only heard about this brand 2 years ago. I received 2 pretty bottles of lotions for my 16th birthday. They were from Bath & Body Works and I LOVE them A LOT!!!!

I also like Body Shop and all, but to be honest, I prefer body shop for other things. Like the well known tea tree oil, exfoliating scrubs, the sponges for back scrubs and my FAV would actually be their LIP BALMS & SHOWER GELS!!!! I am sooo in love with their shower gels. Especially the strawberry one. That is purely heaven on earth!

However, we all know how moisturizing is important. When it comes to lotions, ever since my 16th birthday, I told myself that I am so gonna find a way to get my hands on a bunch of new ones from Bath & Body Works when I have the money of course.

What I didn't know was that it would be so unexpected!!!!

Here's how the story goes....

On Thursday, 16 Sep, I was supposed to be going for casting for the Digital Fashion Week. Unfortunately, through email, I didn't make the cut for the pre-casting selection. I really would love to do runways and I hope that I will have the opportunities to do many others in the future.
*Fingers Kept Crossed*

It has been a while and school was about to start anyway. I needed some final therapy and what better way than to shop?! Hehe

Thing was, I have been saving up a lot not for splurging and all. Money is being saved for reasons I rather not share here. Those who are really close to me will know why. Moving on, I went to window shop anyway. I felt like hitting town one last time. I went over to Orchard alone to window shop. I only brought $12 with me. As sad as it may sound, like I said, shopping is a form of therapy. You can never go wrong with it. Although to be honest, shopping is way more fun when with company and who else other than BFF to call it the PERFECT SHOPPING DAY!

Before I begin, a girl ALWAYS has time to camwhore before "therapy" session... hehehe

Anyway, this time round I went alone and I bumped into an old friend. She was really rushing and I didn't even manage to take a picture with her. Apparently, she had a few more hours before her flight to Netherlands and she was doing some last minute shopping. She handed me a voucher. Guess what is it?! $50 Bath & Body Works!!! I was surprised thinking why would she give hers to me.

Apparently, you can only use one voucher per transaction and she used hers and was left with this. Also, she had no more time to wait for another day to use it and so on. The fact that she was in a rush, made her just give me a quick bear hug and also the voucher before she literally scurried away with like 8 shopping bags!!!!!!

I was just thinking to myself how lucky I was. I went to Orchard to window shop and ended up shopping because of this. Best part, as mentioned earlier, there's one outlet at Takashimaya and I was at Wisma. It was just beside me!

My luck didn't end there. I head down and saw something that would make EVERY girl smile...
SALE!!!

At Bath & Body works, the 6.5 oz body lotion used to be $22 but now it is $20. There was a promotion. It was buy 3 products and get 1 free. Which means pay $60 to get $80 worth of item.

I used my $50 voucher and had to pay $10 for $80 worth of lotion!!!!

After this, I didn't felt the need to window shop anymore. I took the train home and with my remaining 2 bucks, got myself Chicken Rice from Ananas Cafe.

It was really a GREAT Thursday!!!!

These are my lotions...They smell ULTRA heavenly. I had like about 6-7 favs but had to narrow it down to 4 and totally no regrets as to me they were the best!

Even the paper bag looked cute!

Be it Shower Gel, Perfume, Body Mist or Lotions, I am someone who prefer something sweet, light, and fruity.

Blues

On Friday, I had a day camp with the fellow SOH Ambassadors and then a meeting session with SAA.

The camp was fun mainly cuz I finally watched Captain America 2 and I must say it's AMAZING!!!! I actually preferred this to the first one..actually I don't really know. I like them both. Also, I had 4 slices of pizzas, all different flavors from Sarpino's. Yup, I really pigged out!!!!

The reason why I labelled this blues was because, coincidentally, I wore blue the next day too. So.. yea.

This time round, I paired it with my skirt inspired by a trench coat that I got as a gift which I am soooo MADLY IN LOVE WITH! It's so flowy, and chic and what not to love?!

Today is a Saturday and it's already 7.30pm! I cannot believe that the 6 weeks of holidays passed by this quickly. Well, Monday school will start and the rest of October and even the first 2 weeks or so of November will be really packed for me!

This will be my last holiday post as the next I will be posting is probably if I find time in the weekends once school starts.

I really hope my class is fine as I saw my classmates and I have to say more than half are EXTRA COMPETITIVE to a point where I honestly don't know if I'll enjoy this upcoming semester. I still sure do hope about the clique thing. Cuz, I'm already in Year 2 and in my last semester as a Year 2. It's about time I had some friends who actually sticks besides The NiggAPACHE of course.

Well, we'll see.. I can only hope it goes well.

I've got a semi busy day tomorrow. Let's see how the last day of the supposed "hols" goes.

Till then

Bogo Subway X A&F Interview X Random B Obsessions

Sometimes it sucks being a girl. Times like these it does.
Yeap, it's that time of the month again.
If you're guessing cramps, you're so RIGHT!

Well, I am much better although still a little weak now.
I've been having a horrible sore throat and my voice is LONG GONE!

The worse timing as I had my A&F interview 2 days back.

This post, isn't gonna be lengthy. Just a short one as I'll be resting for today. Trying to get my voice back without the aid of medications and doctors.

Let's start with Subway shall we?

10th October 2014!!! You'll wanna head down to the nearest Subway brunch and start queuing, because its going to be Subway's 3rd consecutive year running the national Subway’s Buy One Get One Free day!! On this very special day, everyone is entitled to a free second 6-inch sub, when you purchase one 6- inch sub! You could eat them both but if you don't have enough tummy space for two subs, put that sub to good use and give it to someone else.

This year, Subway is collaborating with some of the world's best upcoming artists such as Tom Whalen, So Youn Lee, and JP Cuison. They will be designing limited edition "Say It With A Sub" bag! You could pack your extra sub intended for someone else into these bags and give it to them as a gift. Tell that person how you feel with the bag of your choice! Some of the captions on the bags include the following:

- We need to talk..
- I don't know what I did but I'm sorry anyway
- I hope you accept bribes
- Can I leave at 4pm today?
- This is what an apology tastes like
-My other half for my better half

Subway's Buy One Get One Free day only lasts for one day! It'll be such a pity if you miss out on it. Also, the Say It With A Sub bags are limited edition so make sure to get in the queue quick to redeem one of them.

However, if you want another design, and want to do some charity at the same time, here’s a way...

Head over to Subway Singapore’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/SubwaySingapore) for a link to an online charity auction!
You can bid for any of the signed artwork by these artists from now till 17 October.
All proceeds will go to the Business Times Budding Artist Fund (www.baf.sg),  a charity which supports The Little Arts Academy’s arts training programmes for children and youth from financially-disadvantaged backgrounds.

2 of the guys from NiggAPACHE and I bought the sandwiches and come on that means we had 4 6-inches sandwiches but only 3 people to eat them. We happened to have someone we knew nearby and gave him a call to share the joy!

We also took whatever bags that were available. By that, I mean one of each!

What is a better way to feel happy? SHARE THE JOY!!!!! And it's nice seeing a friend happy during a worked up period of time.

It was a bummer he had to leave early. Well, at least I had some company before the A&F interview started.

This time round, as I had mentioned earlier, I was given a recruitment card and also Aisyah (from TNPNF 2014) helped me with more recommendations.

It was strange as I thought the interview would be a group one. Apparently, my interviewer was just as appalled. I apparently broke the record. The first 1 - 1 interview.

Well, I choose to think it went smoothly other than my GODDAMNED voice. If I do get the job, I'll be seeing familiar faces like Kim, Aisyah and so on.

Well, we'll see. If I get it, yay! If I don't, there's always other jobs to try for.

Here's some pics that I went in the interview room while waiting for any soul to walk in and I took some pictures...... hehehe

This guy is not only a male model who was on the wall as a poster, but apparently he's also an associate! Not in Singapore though but still.. WOW!!!

And his face is just so chiseled!

After talking about that picture, it got me reminded about a picture that I had chanced upon on Twitter and even Tumblr. It's a picture of some random REALLY GOOD LOOKING guy with GREAT HAIR!

....Well, here he is....

Just makes me go all AAAAAAAHHHHHHH

This is gonna be completely random. But I have had an obsession over 3 things!!!!

Firstly, BRALETTES!!!!

Secondly, CHARM BRACELETS!!!!

I've ALWAYS wanted them but the ones shown in the pictures above are the ones that I want but are sadly hard to find. The ones which are more common are the extremely expensive ones like from Tiffany's or Pandora and I must say they are pretty and all, but somehow I like these better! :)

Thirdly, BAGS... & in specific LUGGAGES!!!!

And yes.. They MUST be PINK!!!!

This is a bag I saw at Zalora and I must say, cuz of it's color, size and it's exterior (soft), I fell in LOVE! Haha

I ain't in no rush to get any of these but will buy them when I do have the money!

Time to get back to working on some cards.

Till the next blog

TNPNF Finals X Miss NiggAPACHE

Before I start, here's a little more about the 19 girls...

Iman:
She is the youngest contestant this year at only 14. She is the daughter of football legend Fandi Ahmad and former supermodel Wendy Jacobs. She is rather quiet and shy at first but once I started talking to her, I realized not only she was sweet but also has a crazy side to her. For a 14 year old, she has a killer body, amazing looks and a stunning walk.

Annmarie:
She works at Cat Cafe and has a birth mark on her neck that even she herself says looks like a hickey. She is a super sweet girl to be with.

Jia Yi:
I found out from Aby (Sharlini's Sis) that they go to the same sister and also that she is a netballer. She is really small and is SUPER cute!!! She is my train buddy back home always talking about the most random things from the competition to politics.

Syiqah:
If you think your Mum or Sister or even your BFF is sassy, you couldn't be more wrong. She is the sassiest girl there and is constantly sassing at all of us! The amount of jokes she made ever since she found out that I wanted to be a wedding planner was too damn much!!! But, she's still nice.

Chanel:
She's the oldest competitor at 24. That's like 10 years apart from Iman. You wanna know something? She doesn't even look that old!!!! Her cheeks are the best!!! All of her insta posts will get you going all AAAAWWWWWWW cuz of her chipmunk cheeks! She was a former SIA girl and does a lot of fitness videos also. Such toned abs!!!

Minook:
She is a Korean and I got closer to her ever since our first visit to Monsoon. She has a cool accent and her biggest assets.. all of us know..her boobs! She has such nice boobs! A bunch of us were joking around saying we should rub them for good luck before the finals!!! (Put a bunch of girls together and you get a whole bunch of crazy!!!)

Aurelia:
She is a celebrity blogger. Last year, Asyiha Ams joined and in 2012, it was Eunice Annabel (My FAV blogger!!!!) Aurelia has an OBSESSION with her fillers and she is also known to be such a pretty girl that she CANNOT take an unglam picture! hahaha

Grace:
She is from SOTA and has something unique about her..her ICONIC MOLE! It reminds me of Cindy Crawford. Don't even get me started about her walk. She does the pony stomp just like Giselle Bundchen! AMAZING I tell you!!!

Amanda:
Have you ever heard an angel? Cuz this is how Amanda sounds like when she opens her mouth and sings!!! Her walk is just so flowly and relaxed. Really reminds me of an angel! hahaha

Jasmine:
A blogshop model for Love Bonito and her stunner walk! All chilled and laid back. She is really quiet but a real dark horse. She slays her photoshoots and also her walk is really fierce. She is such a ball of fun to be with backstage! She starts her mini dancing and just livens the moods of the people around her.

Aisyah:
One of the main reason I'm getting a chance at A&F is thanks to Aisyah. She is such a good sport. Her family went to Los Angeles and she gave up that opportunity to be in this competition. I love her spirit. She has also walked for Bridal shows something I wish I would be given an opportunity for.

Abby:
She has so much of spunk and definitely one of the more BOOTYLICIOUS girls there. Tiara and I love singing Anaconda to Abby's butt! HAHAHA

Jessica:
She is the MOST loudest. The MOST craziest. The MOST bitchiest!!! But, everybody LOVES her and she is just pure EPIC FUN! I actually kind of miss her loud Woody Woodpecker laughter!!!!

Rinna:
I met this star stunner during Basic Models casting and I must say, she is soo pretty!!! Always going all black girl mode saying "Guuuuurrrrrllll!" You just have to love her! I took a long time to get used to her hair transformation! From a really light brown / blond to jet black!

Tiara:
Beyonce is in the house people!!! Can she sing? YES. Can she dance? YES. Is she gorgeous? YES. Does she have the brains? Bitch Please! She's a Criminology Undergrad!!!!! During rehearsals, Rinna, Tiara, me, Mira, Nicolle (The Carries Girls) and Diya will go all cray cray dancing and grooving!!!! And since Tiara is either in front or behind me (depending on the sequence), we get a little more goofy!!!

Mira:
You better not mess with this gurl! She has years of training in Silat and also she is working her way up to be a personal trainer! She looks so much more chic, edgy, high fashion, practically Rihanna on Runway with her new haircut! Like DAYUM girl!!!!!

Victoria:
She is the girl I talk to the least not because I don't like her but I find it really hard to communicate with her. She's from China and only speaks super basic English just like how I speak extremely basic Chinese. But, we somehow bond through sign language. She is almost always in heels. In fact, I barely see her in flats. Such control and comfortability in her walk!!

Nicolle:
She thrashed all the girls and went home the Winner for Carries. And she's back! They dyed her hair red initially and she was just outstanding!!! Her walk has improved, her confidence increased and her backstage shenanigans also has up by a lot!!!! hahaha

Diya:
Now.. where do I even begin with this girl? She is juggling O's this year. Yeap, she's 16. She is the tallest among all of us. She is signed to Looque. She does many shoots, ads / campaigns and even runways. I don't mean small scale but on an international scale. She has walked for Digital Fashion Week, Audi Fashion Festival and even did runways in India. She is a professional model. She has so much poise, charisma, stage presence, attitude and she KILLS IT on both the runway and the shoot. I named her Solange Knowles during the closed door auditions because of her big hair!!!

Models aren't the only one who made this show and journey possible!!! There are the people that I worked with and would like to share a little more about them.

A little bit of the people I worked with...

Wee Teck (Creative Director & Editorial in-charge):
This year, 2014, it will be the 22nd Year for TNPNF and sadly it is Wee Teck's last year working with SPH. I am truly blessed to have not only gotten to know him but also to have a chance to work with him. He is such a fun guy and knows how to separate work from play.

Daniel Boey
He is often referred to as the “Godfather of Singapore fashion” and “Singapore fashion royalty”. He is a fashion / creative director whose name is synonymous with inspired, cutting-edge and groundbreaking ideas, and is one of the most sought-after fashion and lifestyle event producers in Asia. I had a chance to work with him and he is so professional and have worked with such big names that it was truly an honor.

Bryan Gamboa:
He is a show producer and a show producer has to be a magician blessed with the personality of a saint and the constitution of a bull. Bryan Gamboa appears to be just such a miracle of an individual. He is truly an amazing guy. The girls and I worked with him especially closely during the SPH rehearsals and it was such a joy. So far Bryan has produced shows and designed events in Singapore, Taipei, Bangkok, Bali and Hanoi, and has worked with high-profile labels like Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Loewe, Tiffany, Paloma Picasso, Herve Leger, Maria Grachvogel, DSquared, Paul&Joe, Tommy Hilfiger and Brooks Brothers as well as department stores Takashimaya, Robinsons and Tangs. Working with someone like that does not make me feel happy but also thankful.

Candy Cheah (Project Executive):
She is usually seated and watching us during the rehearsals and getting us food and water. She is someone who is a little quiet but really approachable whenever we need any help with.

Fairul Shah (Coordinator):
He is a CRUCIAL guy. You just have to love him and all his jokes. He will be the guy at the backstage making sure we all look our best and gives us our cue when to go out. This is MAJORLY IMPORTANT as timing is vital! He also LOVES nagging us! hahaha! Be it to sleep properly, eat properly, lotion up and so on... he's like a mum in that sense! But if it is not for him, a lot of us won't be in our best form so THANK YOU FAIRUL!!!!!!

Chloe (Backstage Crew):
She is a fresh graduate from TP. She was from Apparel Design and Fashion Merchandising and has many such opportunities to work in events. She is just so sweet. When Victoria was overseas, she was our dear Victoria and she was soooo cute!!!! haha

Beno Lim (Mac Team):
He is the main guy from Mac. Every make up artiste will get his approval on their work. He really knows his stuff well and have worked with many renowned people and his work is just so notable. The girls and I received our own Mac products (in a lil cute bag) after one of our shoots and we were sooo in LOVE with them!!! I love that I received a Red Lipstick!

Haiz (Mac Team):
She is the one who has done my make up about 2 - 3 times. For the Bintan Shoot and even for the Finals. She really knows my skin. The foundation and all that she uses really suits my skin. I love how she mixes two various shades even lipstick so that is more suited for me. Thank you for dolling me up all these while!

The Monsoon Hairstylists especially CeJay:
These were the really amazing people who dealt with my super troublesome hair! Be it sleeking it back (Subaru, Solo shot), making it huge and poofy (Bintan: Fire Element), or rebonding it and making it all soft (Calendar shot, Finale), they know how to handle my hair. Even when rebonding my hair and taking 3 hours each time for the 2 visits, they were really patient and I cannot thank them enough for taming my naturally uber curly hair!!!!

Photographer
Lastly, our photographer. He filmed us in Bintan (New Look) for our various elements shoot, our own solo shots and some of us even a re-shoot, the group shot of all 20 of us, the calendar for 2015 shoot (Levis) and lastly the Subaru shoot. He was really patient and guided us. I was happy that the feedback I got was really positive. From being a real timid and shy girl during the first solo shoot to a much more confident girl at the Subaru shoot. It was all thanks to their guidance!!!

New face has produced such great stars!

In entertainment, the New Face alumni include Julie Tan, Vanessa Vanderstraaten and Jayley Woo.

For the social media superstars, there's Eunice Annabelle Lim, Velda Tan and Sophie Willcoq.

Three New Face alumni were featured in Asia's Next Top Model and thet are Rachel Erasmus, Kyla Tan (Season 1) and Pooja Gill (Season 2).

There's also former New Face girls who have made their names in the modelling world include Nargis Musawwir, Vivien Ong, and Sara Chan.

Other well known ex-New Face girls include radio deejay Jacqui Thibodeaux, modelling agency owner Serena Adsit and entrepreneur Peggy Chang.

I wish I could join them and be on such a list and become really successful with my modelling and my modelling career.

NiggAPACHE!!!!!!!!

.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Y'all must be wondering about the title Miss NiggAPACHE.. Well, I honestly felt really happy that night. I may not have won any titles but what I wanted from this was for the judges to like me and for the people that I had a chance to work with to like me. And from what I heard, I have achieved that.

I really do hope I'll have the opportunity to work with these amazing people again. Be it for photoshoots or runways (hopefully)!!!

When I met up with the NiggAPACHE, all I wanted was a hug. A really tight one not because I was sad but because I was on Cloud 9 and I had my favorite people in this world with me just made me  feel like hugging!

I wish my parents and my sisters were more supportive about me modelling. Well, they are definitely more traditional and conservative. It kinda sucks not having support from my family. But that sadness was totally erased as I had my second family right there cheering me on..The NiggAPACHE!

After the show, we decided to hang around for a bit. Sharlini was talking to me while the guys went somewhere else. I honestly thought they went looking for food and then they went to the toilet or something. I had utterly no clue that Sharlini was there to distract me! haha

Well, we decided to camwhore in the streets and sat in front of the Giant LED screen on the stairs. That's when, the guys gave me a gift. They said something that touched my heart!
"I may not have won New Face, but I won the title of Miss NiggAPACHE!"

With that, they presented me with the BEST GIFTS!!!!!

I got a huge tub of Haagen Daaz Macadamia Nut Ice Cream, 2 packets of the 7-11 brownies and even a Cola Lollipop!!! All the stuff I've been craving for!!!!

Thank heavens they bought a bag of plastic spoons and we all shared a really amazing dessert!

I would have teared but I was really too happy!!!

I was soo soo thankful and blessed. Thankful for the sweetest gesture! Sometimes a girl does not need a bouquet of expensive flowers to feel loved but some ice cream and brownie! And blessed I have such amazing people in my life. The night would've been complete had the Asian Guy joined us..but studies and tests and exams.

Other than that, this simple girl felt like a REAL HAPPY PRINCESS that night!!!! Had my royal crown to wear and rock it on on stage and got to look the princess part with my pink Coast London dress. However, I felt like a princess when I was with The NiggAPACHE.

Once again, thank you all who have been a part of this amazing journey. From the auditions, to photoshoots, to rehearsals and fittings and the finale! Love each and everyone of you to bits!

Till next time

xoxo
