Aglio Olio FTW X Bayview X Carrie Models Semi Finals X Old School

Aglio Olio

I have always been a huge fan of Aglio Olio and I've probably already eaten 4 to 5  different Aglio Olio dishes in my life. It's about time I learnt how to make my own so I can enjoy them as and when I like. I went to Google on it and I found out the most basic Aglio Olio. These are the steps.

If you would like Chicken or Prawn and so on, do add them to your preference. I simply cannot wait to try them. :)

Bayview

A while back I helped my friend to purchase a Groupon for her parents wedding anniversary. I did so, just a while back she told me they were fighting and cancelled and so on. Well, she did pay me but I did not give her the coupon yet. So I did was to go to Bayview and have lunch on their behalf. Of course I paid half an all. After a quick lunch there was some window shopping.

Still wanted to look good!!!

It was an Indian buffet and it was all good!

I was really famished that I didn't take a picture of the food but instead just the dessert. It was really sweet and overall I must say the food was good.

We were eyeing this exhibition but it was a little too pricey and moreover I had a while left before I had to rush off for work.

Y'all wouldn't believe where I went next!!!

Honestly, if you know me well, I don't know much about designer brands, neither do I own anything from high-end fashion labels. (Quite a shameful thing to say since I am really interested and inclined to Fashion. HAHA. But that's me!^^) I am more of a street-fashion kinda shopper, I am easily contented with TopShop, H&M etc. And I would definitely go crazy at online boutiques or even Qoo10 for that matter of fact!

With that being said, I entered Prada for the very first time in my life and tried on sunglasses that costs a fortune!

I even had the chance to touch a pair of wedges which costs (brace yourselves people) $1900++. You saw that figure right! I actually brushed all my nerves aside and man up and asked for my size. This being Singapore..it's a little tough to get shoes for girls at size 40 (9). I even went to Jimmy Choo and tried a really pretty pair of heels that costs $1400++. Too bad the biggest they had was a size 39! I felt like a rich girl for one day. Like one of those Beverly Hills or Gossip Girls who lived in a zip code which says 90210! It was really overwhelming and lavish!

2 ladies gave me this bag which had a free sample of a hand moisturizing cream. They were really nice as they complimented my dress. The thing is, they actually asked me which country I was from. I had to stifle a giggle when I answered Singapore. Well pardon me for not looking like a typical or an average Singaporean. Some people think Singapore is an all-Chinese country. I mean when will society start to give recognition for the minorities? There's no point of calling us a cosmopolitan or a multi-racial country when people still mistake us to be an all-Chinese country.

Carrie Models

Model Search 2014

To read more about this competition, click on the link below which will bring y'all to my previous blogpost on the audition & casting.

So anyway, this is me in the changing room trying on the Jeans from our sponsor, Denizen. I wore a really dark blue one which is under the Super Skinny range at size 26 if y'all are wondering. The shirt is also from Denizen in which I'm using a size S.

The number that was given to me, F - representing the female category and 13 my number.

This was me after make up. They really put a whole lot of make up on for me. Honestly I wouldn't have mind but the problem is the color that they used on me didn't suit my skin at all. It was more than 5 shades lighter and ofcourse I looked kinda white which did not come across natural looking. I do not blame my make up artist as she did the best she could do with the make up that was provided.

On stage, standing along side these gorgeous and sophisticated ladies was pretty nerve wrecking for me to be honest. HAHA. I wouldn't say that I was nervous but more of intimidated. The whole time I was trying my best not to mumble or say something out of context and embarrass myself (for the Q&A segment) and prayed my walk was good. I knew my audition walk was better as it was more "fierce". Guess I'll have to bring back the fire and spark for the finals.

I had to give myself a reminder that I am no longer just a kid. I am turning into a woman and I have to uphold myself well. Can't wait for the Finals, hopefully all goes well. hehehe

This is us, the female models who were taking selfies with Nurul's phone backstage.

More photos..

The mini fashion show which was held and we had the privilege to sit and watch these professional models.

My favorite Rachel. She was on Asia's Next Top Model Season 1.

I just had to show you guys this picture as the model..she had really long and skinny legs. All of us girls could tell it went on forever! They were endless I tell you!

It would've been better if we girls had the opportunity to sit in front. hehehe

Selfies along with the guys as well

And here are the videos...

For the Semi Finals / Heats to the Finals, 8 out of 15 will get through. And I am really thankful and blessed that my number and name was called out second. I couldn't have felt more blessed. Now that I am in the Finals, all I can do is work hard, practice and give the best catwalk I can ever give. HAHA.

Let's see how it goes alright?

So delighted that I squealed when I saw my name on the Facebook Page.

This was after everything and how tired and drained I look. One last shot before I washed all the make up off! It really did take long!!!

I am really happy to have made friends with these beautiful ladies and handsome guys. hehehe

Just a random note, I finally realized I am an Egyptian Princess! HAHAHA! just kidding!

Well, what are y'all. I am sure if I really do trace down, Cleopatra would be one of great x 10 grandmother! HAHAHA

Also, remember how I have been saying I want to get myself a vintage scrapbook. I have finally decided that it's ok if it isn't vintage. But I want the cover to be something like this, like a real thick book instead of something that's really flimsy. I want it hard not like a drawing block's cardboard piece. Any idea on where to get something like this? Just the cover?

Old School

No no no.. this isn't a music kinda Old School. Just wanted to share with you guys teeny tiny secret. I am a HUUUUUUUUUGGGGGEEEEEEE fan of Barbie since I was a little girl although I never did quite own a Barbie Doll. Anyway, just wanted to say that I am such a loyal fan that I have watched every single one of her movies and even the recent ones I have secretly watched them on okto or YouTube or I Google them until I find them. I shall highlight my favorite ones in pink. Old School as most of them that I love are from the early 2000s.

Barbie: A Camping We Will Go - 2011 (Short film)
Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse - 2012—Present (Web series)
Barbie: Land of Sweets - 2013 (Christmas Special)

These following 3 I have yet to watch them and the one in 2015 is clearly not released yet.

Barbie, a character was also in My Scene, one of my favorite games/hings/websites/show and so on. I have watched all 3 of their movies and I loved them all.

One thing that I had always wanted to do was to learn how to burn CDs so that I could make copies of whatever that I want. 2 things would definitely be movies and music albums. In terms of movies I have always wanted a complete series of the Barbie Collection. And also the Step Up Series (speaking of which the 5th one is coming out and I just can't wait!). In terms of music why I titled things segment Old School would be because of the former bands that I really like but at that time was too young and didn't have the money to buy the albums. Currently the one that I want would be both of Pussycat Dolls Albums and also songs from the albums of the Black Eyed Peas. In terms of modern albums, I would really like to get my hands on Cher Llyod! hehehe

Just realized how long this blogpost has been. Well, time to Google for some Barbie movies..watch them and at the same time prep myself as I am sure JP would want to schedule more classes for the Finals.

Alrighty! That's it for now.
Thank you all for reading!
Have a great week ahead everyone.

xoxo,
Farhana Mazlan
