La Familia

This blog post is dedicated to... The Mazlans a.k.a The Mazzies.

Don't you ask who are The Mazzies, cuz it's none other than my Family (*refer to title of this blog*)

Some things that has happened recently:

My lil sis got promoted from J1 to J2. Honestly, no surprise there as I just knew she would've made it but she was doubting herself but she has got the brains!

Another thing which calls for a celebration is that my older sis got a job with NUS, the new school which is joint with Yale and right now she may be pursuing a career in teaching. As long as she follows her dream and chase after what she wants and is happy.

The 5 of us, have VERY VERY VERY different job aspects.

Papa used to be a Sailor for God knows how many years with the company Seamen. And now he is a Security Guard. Mama has been a Nurse since she was 16 or 17 years old. They both should be retiring and travelling the world by now like going on cruises. However, Papa is a crazy workaholic and Mama well, I guess she still feels like she too still has got to work because her children aren't old enough and aren't making enough to support them just yet.

Fazilah is a future aspiring Teacher and she has been tutoring for quite some time and now she may just be a few steps closer to her goal to be a teacher. Raihan is the family's future Lawyer. She has a HUGE thing for wanting to become one and she knows it's pretty tough. But I am sure she'll work hard and smart to get to where she wants to go to.

And then there's me... a future aspiring Wedding Planner. The oddest job considering my family tends to go for more realistic and locally appreciated and wanted jobs,

Ouh well, we are The Mazzies after all. I am sure it's fine to be different! Hehe

Jeez! I've drifted to some career talk here when it was supposed to be about the time spent with my family. So, we all decided to have a family dinner outside to spend some time together and also to celebrate mini achievements.

In the end, it was decided.. Nando's @ JCube. This was my second time there, and I ordered a Chicken Burger. I must say, it was delish and any and every chicken lover should at least try Nando's once in their lifetime. I am not the biggest fan of the place but I still like it.

Since Jurong is home to MANY shops and H&M was just around the corner, I had to drag Raihan to rush there after we had ordered our food and was waiting for it to come.

So what was it in there that I just HAD to go & buy? Well, the fuzzy socks of course! H&M's current collection is just AMAZEBALLS! The Balmain one especially. I was drooling over the ads but have yet to see the real pieces in selected stores. I was more than happy to have the fuzzy socks! It was PINK!!!! And might I add, so soft it was like touching clouds.

Thank heavens I spotted the last pair and just before I purchased them (Thank You Papa!!!), Raihan had to take an OOTD shot in front of the mirror as her outfit was so on point that day. LOVED her checkered cropped overlay and that red creeper shoes that she purchased ages ago with me but never did wear 'em. Well DAYUM! My sister with her red lips just looked stunning. Sometimes I have to remind myself she is no longer 14 or 15 but in fact she's growing up. She just turned 17.

I gave her this really beautiful hand made (not by me, my DIY & art skills has it's limitations) box and something a lil more.

Not gonna tell it in this segment but you can read about it below and see the pictures of the ones we tried. When she tries more, I'll sure post more pictures. So what is it you ask? Hair chalk!

Now, back to H&M, I did not manage to find time to try on any of the clothes during the trip there with Rai and also because of my schedule, I do not get a lot of free times some times. When I had the opportunity to kill some time while I was at work jumping from Sports Hub to Singapore Indoor Stadium, I went over to H&M.

I got so excited, I walked around and grabbed as many clothes as I could which I adored and took them all to the changing room. I tried and got them fitted and after which I took a bunch of photos. The last being my favorite as the amount of pictures taken is too damn high! #MUCHLOVES

Since it's the winter season, there are tonnes of shawls and scarves that I told Zizi she should probably get them if she's looking forward to getting one.

Speaking of her, she was a sweetheart back a while ago and insisted for me to tell her what is it that I want and she'll buy it for me. Honestly, at that very moment and also for a long while, I was simply thinking. I could not seem to put my finger on exactly what I wanted. I am someone who saves up for things that I want.

I kept money for my bandage skirts, (Can't believe I got them and 2 pairs of shoes for a really great deal thanks to the crazy Black Friday!), for my body lotions (I became a HUGE FAN of Bath & Body Works ever since my last purchase) and I guess moving out and into a new home, I could use home related items but even that was all bought and catered for (Once again, thanks D for your cupboard).

Yeap shall slowly progress my way of addressing everybody in this group here (The NiggAPACHE on my blog) by their names instead of just nicknames. I am still taking it slow as I do not want to create another problem as how my blog was apparently a "mass destruction" to some people when I posted pictures and mentioned names a year ago.

Back to my sister, YIKES! I'm also getting distracted and end up derailing and talking about everything. Hahaha

So, Zizi kept insisting and I thought long and hard. I finally got my answer. I have been searching and saving up for so long for the various charms for my charm bracelet and I knew the one last one I've been dreaming about but money was a huge barrier.

I asked her if it was okay with her. She said yes! Haha, I sounded like my sister just said "yes" after I asked her to marry me! LOL!

Ouh well, it is basically a Juicy Couture Charm. One costs about $200++. God bless Carousell as things may be originals, replicas, or second hand. But as long as it's in a good condition. Hell the price here was so much more affordable. And thanks to Zizi, I finally own my very first Juicy Couture product and it is a charm! The final one to complete my bracelet.

The charm is a laptop and it explains my love for reading, writing, blogging, researching, learning and getting some inspiration from!

So thank you so much! Even the box it was packed in was lovely. You were really nice when you added a purplish-pink small bag, a small bottle of perfume, and it was all placed in a gorgeous paperbag. I really mean it when I say I love storage stuff. #PrincessOfBoxes #NoJoke

Overseas Trip

It has been ages since I last traveled someplace. The last trip excluding a short day trip to JB to get Hari Raya outfits sewn was Bali. That was 2 years ago! My family has been to so many trips in these past 2 years. Every single time, it was work or school. Might I add, I am the ONLY one among my cousins and all who is in Poly right now and especially has been a busy period now due to internship. Before this, it is just my schedule. My holidays are all just never the same as the others.

I have been eagerly wanting to go for a trip with my family. I would love somewhere I have never been and go on at least a week vacation. But even having a day off is a great thing. I managed to get the perfect time and we decided to go to KL.

The plan is to meet them after work and then we go to KL via a train, I can't wait!!!! Because, I have been to KL before, but I have never gone via a train and that would be something real new.

AND..... KL didn't happen but!!!! We ended up having a sleepover / slumber party and we did make a stop to JB (at the very least I got some chops on my newly renewed passport). Hopefully, I'll get it chopped all over by so many different countries in time to come.

So here's the pictures and of course some elaboration:

Raihan's birthday gift other than the box, hair chalk! We were supposed to have time to try it during the slumber party but Raihan only came home at midnight.... well, at least I hope she can try out the colors along with Mama, Zizi and even her friends. She can even gage what color she wants to dye her hair after a mini experiment.

There was no High School Musical Singing or Marathon like I said because Raihan came back at midnight and Zizi only returned at 10.30. I guess we could save it for some other time.

What I decided to do was some relaxation so we did a home made DIY foot spa and put on facial masks while waiting for Raihan. It was just nice to get my mum and older sister to relax. Especially my mum :')

The next morning we were off to Johor Bahru. Plans were made to go to like I think 3-4 malls, well there's this thing called life so when that happens, not always what you plans happens. Our journey to and fro, we were caught in a 2 hour traffic jam each way. At least we were blasting music and singing our hearts out especially for me when Ariana Grande's Focus came on. My sister, despite the fact that she was driving, was dancing and moving when the club songs came on. Mama was judging us hehehe

We had a hearty lunch and I had Nasi Goreng Kampung & Teh Tarik.

As for the malls, we only covered 1 which was City Square Mall. We cleared all the top floors but sheeeeeesssshhhhhh! My sisters really know how to shop and hog at just 1 store, A lot of time was spent at Cotton On, but the most time was spent in H&M, I am talking about hours people! I thought I was bad!

Hahaha! But hey, it was still fun. I guess I am more thrifty (hopefully it's a good thing).

These were my buys:

1) A fuzzy white snowy top

2) A sun cap

3) A biker maroon and black netted crop top (SUPER COOL)

4) Thick Markers

5) Simple small birthday cards

6) High waisted jeans with suspenders

7) Fluffy Ballet style bedroom slippers

8) H&M printed soft normal socks

9) Normal colored socks

10) A phone case as a gift

Of course Mama will be saying things like why am I getting wintery stuff when I am here in Singapore, but the thing is, the white top is pretty thin, so it'll keep me warm but not to a point I am stuffy using it.

I had time for a hair cut at Kotaraya but that's it.

The pictures throughout the day

Wish I had the appetite to have Baskin Robins with my family but at least I tried a bit of what they all ordered. NEXT TIME!!!

Dilwale

Now THIS IS WHAT I CALL A GOOD MOVIE! My all time fav Bollywood It Couple, Kajol & SRK reunites with their new film, Dilwale! The guys are out there watching Star Wars and I for once have no regrets not joining for a movie session if it means watching DILWALE!!!!!

I am upset that we did not manage to take any pictures, in fact we were rushing so that we did not even miss a second of this movie.

I created this poster below & tweeted it.

SRK is 50 but he is as good looking as ever! Look at that body too! *melts*

Then there's Kajol, she's 40 and she looks so radiant, flawless, beautiful. Watching her face, her soft brown hair in the movie, her sarees flowing in the wind, every girl would've envied and wanted to be her. I really adore them so much and they are my forever favs on-screen Bollywood Couple!

This movie, was perfect. It honestly isn't the greatest. IMDB gave it a 6.8/10. I watched it mainly for them. But the movie was perfect, as it had the right amount of throwback things, modern day items (fights / car chase / shooting) and also the romance was so subtle, so passionate that it was fitted for their age and the roles they were playing. It was the perfect kind of mellow movie. I simply adored it.

It was so heartfelt the songs, these are some of the Hindi-English Translations.

~ The Sky melted, turned into glass

When it froze, it took the shape of Your face ~

~ After forgetting the world, I’ve met You

This is the prayer that is coming out of my heart
Color me in Your colors ~

~ Be mine always like this

Never say good bye ~

~ All those glass dreams of ours were fragile,

they started breaking at the mere touch.. ~

~ Those, whose togetherness I had asked for in prayers,
those companions are getting lost. ~

~ There is your name on my lips,

on my sleep, there is your patrolling ~

~ The sun rises for you,

and in the moon I see your face,
since the time you have become my lover ~

Just read them, hear them, feel them. They are so deep, so sincere, so moving. This is why sometimes I love Hindi & Tamil music, they are oh so poetic and dreamy. The songs just goes straight to your heart. You feel entwined with them.

Well, this is the adventures with my family! See y'all during Christmas! And Yay!!!! I get to see Maami then, and even Papa.

Take care till then.

xoxo

A Christmassy Girl,
Hana
