Interning with Inside The Knot


Well, let's just say that I am so truly deeply upset for typing what I'm about to say. I LOVE this job, with the whole working with a wedding company and being a part of it. But I do not want to get into too much details when I say that things haven't been going so well. 

If they were minor problems then sure, but things have been getting REALLY bad and ugly to a point I am upset to say that it's best if I leave. Thank you Rubina, Li Si, Esh, Simon (all the full timers) and Lilin (the other intern) for this one month journey. 

I am still really determined and my passion for this wedding industry hasn't died down just yet. In fact, I am even more motivated to prove myself and my worth and will work twice as hard and smart to come up and be successful in the wedding industry.

Hopefully the status "aspiring wedding planner" will be changed to "successful wedding planner" soon. 

I just hate the fact that after one month as an intern with them, it's back to square one in terms of looking for a job. It really sucks. I have had a chance to seek out 2 more wedding companies with hopes that they'll get back with positive answers. If that fails, it's back to looking for jobs in almost any sector that is paying rather well and keen on hiring me. 

Haish, I didn't expect things to be like this just after a month but hey, this is life and things aren't always smooth sailing. Nevertheless, I will work my ass of to make my dream, my goals come true and pursue after what I want as I really do want to be a wedding planner and have that as a career.

Post Work - Pre Gym

Random Toilet Video while filling up buckets of water for the flowers for a flower-filled wedding at Botanical Gardens!

I promise you people, the prettier the flower, the more painful it is. The thorns, if you don't de-thorn it, it'll really hurt you. My hands have all been scratched and bruised from handling the flowers! :(

But, now I am happy to say that I've learnt so much about them and can handle them so much better!!!

Red Roses

A lot of brides have a Pinterest account with what they'd like to have for their weddings. I guess this is a current trend but it also is a great platform for so many decor and DIY stuff. I chanced upon this and fell in love instantly. They are made of wooden twigs and small branches and painted with an ombre pink effect that forms a heart and it looks simply gorgeous!

Mother's Day

This year the "it color" is all shades of blue from baby, Tiffany, midnight, navy, pastel, sea, sky and so on. Even for weddings. At Inside The Knot, there were so many flowers like baby breath, eustomas, hydrangeas and many others that were being sold for Mother's Day. 


I prepared a bouquet for Mama and gifted her one for Mother's Day!

I was just so glad that she loved it! :')

I made Mama a card and gave her the bouquet. I was a tad down for the actual Mother's Day as I had work, things turned ugly and I left (more like ditched) and I decided to go to the library to get more wedding books, I found David Tutera's ones (AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH) and when I was heading home to join for the Mother's home dinner which was going to be at Al Azhar I realized Papa was unable to attend as he wasn't feeling too good. 

Since there wasn't going to be anyone at home, I said to myself "Meh! This Orange Lipstick can be showcased for another occasion instead of today!" Hahaha

No, I felt bad for leaving him home with no one to keep an eye on him so I went back home. 

At least my mum had a great time with my sisters and our neighbors and Al Azhar was super sweet to give all the mums a free brownie cake on the house!

Mama and my sisters didn't take a whole group shot or with both my sisters, so I only have the ones with Zizi. And they look so good! Once again, Happy Mother's Day to the woman who gave birth to me, fought for all of us, was a strong, independent woman who is nothing short of an inspiration to us.

We love you with all of our hearts and want nothing but the best for you. Pure joy, health, peace and love will be constantly thrown your way so don't shun it but embrace it.

This is actually how the lives of most Mums are. Why do this to them? We should treat them like the Queens they actually are. For all those sacrifices, time, effort, nurturing, we should be the ones paying them back not by just piling money on them but with our time, effort, the endless love they deserve. When they are old, don't you dare abandon them but support them. If you won't, who will?

They are mums, our mums, the same woman that carried us for 9 - 10 months in her and go through this excruciating pain called labour. The least we could do is to strive to make them happy. Leave a huge smile on their faces. Help them, love them, care for them. Let them know that they've been there for us doing for us so much that now it is their turn to relax and let us be the one helping them, supporting them.

Love your Mums as our Mums, our Dads, our families, they are our world. No matter how good or bad some of us have it, they made us who we are today. They were the ones that shaped us.

MET Gala 2016

This year, there were so many stunning outfits but I'm definitely saving the best for the last!!!

JUST LOOK AT IT! They have fibre optic lights with 30 battery operated pods in the dress. It has a whole glow in dark feature. Claire Danes was truly Cinderella for that night and Zac Posen was her Fairy God Mother!

Graduation

I was in a massive struggle as I had no idea what to wear, what time should I leave, where do I even go to? Hahaha

I ended up leaving with my parents in a cab and still reached early and was stoked that they had good seats. My Grad Ceremony was on 10 May at 2pm. There were 2 Diplomas distributed from the School of Hospitality and my no. was 1330 (No, Thank Heavens I wasn't the 1000th plus student of that day, from my Diploma, Integrated Events Management, there were 300 or so of us getting our certs and I was somewhere in the middle. 

The whole ceremony lasted for like 2 hours and then it was the reception. I saw sooo many familiar faces and was so glad that I could catch up with them. So many sweet girlfriends that RP has blessed me with and the biggest bummer was just not being able to have time to take photos with them. Other than that, I wish each and every one of them the best of luck with their future. 

May we all get where we wanna be. :)

Dalan! Ahhhh, where do I begin with you? It's funny how you're not even from the same poly as me but throughout these 3 years, you've played a significant role in my life. You've been my very best friend, someone I can confide in, turn to with the biggest troubles and also of course for a huge ball of fun! Without you or The NiggAPACHE, I have no idea where I would be. 

Your latecoming habits surprisingly took a turn when you were the first amongst the group to arrive. YAY!!!! And a BIG FAT THANK YOU for all that you've done and supported me throughout. Your kinda graduation (ORD) is happening next year and I wouldn't miss it for the world! 

I called a few of my closest secondary school friends, and outta everyone only one came. Was I surprised, not really. But Reizlynn!!!!! My beautiful Maria! We had a moment when we saw each other. Running towards and squealing our hearts out and hugging as tight as we could. It has been 4 Fuckin Years Gurl! After 4 years, we meet and it was totally as if we haven't seen each other for 2 weeks after graduating from CCKSS. 

It is immensely nice to catch up with you and what's even better was that in a group dominated by guys, you seem so comfortable and blended in that you were practically one of us! Gosh I really cannot wait to meet you and just hang out again like old times (Now I feel old after saying that). 

It melts my heart that you would come for my grad and I really would go all out for you! We've been pretty close since secondary school and after the meet up, I'm sure as hell gonna hang on to you and let us continue from where we left off. 

My soon to be (hopefully gym buddy)! Let us both train and get them bods where guys love to see and gals wanna be. The BOOTAY & BOOBIES sesh!!!

We had so many more group shots that Vinod spammed on Sara's phone but this is the one that was whatsapped to us. Dammit!!!! THANK YOU GUYS FOR COMING AND IT MEANS THE WORLD! I really wished that CZY was not in Tekong so he could've joined us! Sharlini is still on her internship so she was unable to come, if not the whole group would've been there! Well, LOVED ALL OF YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART AND The NiggAPACHE will now and forever be my beautiful Ohana! 

Suraj came super late. He was the usher for NP's Grad night, woohoo! But I didn't care that he was late but was really touched that he still made the effort to come all the way. I LOVE YA SURAJ! Plus he was all decked out in formal, he looked like the one who was gonna graduate. Hahahahaha

I had to part ways with the lads as it was time for family dinner at Manhattan Fish Market. The sweetest part was that they bought me helium balloons. A HUGE Grad balloon along with 2 gold hearts. Thank you guys!! :')

All in Cat Eyed shades at Rubi. While Zizi was eyeing shoes, I had to get a pair of $2 falsies for 2 reasons. 1, they were just 2 bucks. 2, I know I simply MUST use it for Azhim's Wedding in July!

Fazilah insisted on getting me gold or 925 sterling silver jewelry as a graduation gift. As much as I appreciate it, I know for real I would not use it as often and also it costs waaaayyyyyyy to much to only use it a mere under 5 times in a whole year. So when she keep insisting for a gift. I gave her 2 options.

They clearly cost much lesser than jewelry plus it's something that I'd use way more and will treasure them forever!!!

Firstly, either a Vintage World Map or a Scratch Off World Map

Or, Secondly, A Pink Vintage Travel Luggage. Yea I know I'm a sucker for vintage stuff.

Regardless of what she chooses to get me, I'm fine with it. The balloons itself came as a shocker that my mum would get that for me. That itself is a huge gift. The very fact that both my parents came to witness the ceremony and also for my sisters to join for the dinner totally beats whatever I could ask for. On top of this my older sister wants to gift me something extra. I think it is not necessary but she's super insistent and wants to get me something that I'd actually like and use. 

Well, it's def these over any jewelry and we'll see what surprises are in store for me. Be it a luggage or a map, I would love either so much and would treasure and value it with all my heart. Thank you once again Zizi for being so thoughtful and generous.

Czy Turns 20

I think it's pretty funny and cool that this guy turns 20 on 11th May and he was still in Tekong. It was a Wednesday and other than wishing him on Whatsapp or Social Media platforms, we couldn't do much. So, we decided to do something small at the roof for TGIF when he books out again. This year the "cake" comes in the simplest form from me. And his was a McDouble burger. His gifts were 2 things. The first being a Vodka Lamp. 

Secondly, it's an Avengers 3D Lenticular Puzzle. For those of you who have no idea what that is, the Youtube video below can tell you what it is.

Happy Birthday CZY and we all are so proud of you for all that you've achieved. We love you so much and we are here for you. Especially looking forward to every Friday, TGIF sessions as we are so glad to see you when you book out and even on our random weekend outings! Have a blast this year. I am sure your celeb in NS has been interesting and you better share with us when we see you!!!

Gym Session

When Reiz & I met at RP for my graduation after 4 BLOODY GOD FORSAKEN long years, we decided to do one thing. That is to hang out!!! One thing we both agreed on doing is to gym! So it was all planned for, a Saturday, Reiz & I along with some of the guys to head out and conquer Khatib's Gym!

It turns out that Reiz was unable to make it and that the event she was at would end pretty late. So it was just Aideel, Czy, Dalan, Fariz and me. 

We had a blast but... there were some cons along the way. 

#1 It rained like a lil BIATCH!

#2 The gym was FRIGGIN crowded

#3 Dalan didn't even end up gymming with us and joined us after

But hey! I can't lie it was still pretty rad and I used a Smith machine!! YAY!!!

After all that messing around and gymming, guess where we headed? McDonald's of course! Hahahaha! Then Dalan brought his boomerang and I brought my frisbee and we had a blast at the roof all over again till both were thrown and lost. 

Dalan's boomerang was still managed to be retrieved but mine wasn't. Farewell my beloved,  bright,  yellow,  sunny,  happy frisbee! 

We still ended up chilling and talking about stuff from how hard it is to get a job in Singapore to NS life to even travelling. One thing I found out and I think it was pretty interesting. I asked this question. "If money wasn't an issue, where would you love to travel as of now."

Dalan: Debating between Japan, Brazil or even the route of the Silk Road

Then there's me... I was thinking long and hard but I guess I have 3 places I wanna go real bad!

Thrid, A whole freaking month backpacking around Europe!!!!

Honestly, I still hope The NiggAPACHE conquers a foreign country together. Hopefully Bali, if not then... JAPAN!!!!! I really wanna travel around the world and I'm already 20. I've got 5 more years of travelling to do before I'm married. And 7 more years of travelling before being a mum! 

COME ON!!!!!

Time to fulfill things on my bucket list which I actually began doing. I wrote my wishes on small sheets of a paper which as a whole forms Egypt and rolled them up into little scrolls. I put them in my small pink bucket and literally call it My Bucket List hehehe

Wedding Companies

Since I couldn't score a job with a wedding company locally, my last resort was to go to them and interview them. I went and asked them questions. Although I gained some knowledge (theory wise only), it was still better than nothing. 

I am still anticipating the day I get to work under a really renowned wedding company (fingers kept crossed with a celebrity wedding planner and stylist in America) and then to be my own boss hopefully in a decade's time. Yeap, I'd love to be a wedding planner working under someone but my ultimate goal is to start up my own company and work my way to success.

I stopped by 6 wedding companies and although I'm not sharing the notes I took here (I do not want to bore you guys), I am sharing some pictures I took of some places. Only some had pre decor or pictures worth taking instead of just an office or a warehouse.

I am anticipating the reply of one wedding company's email and after that, I am all set I guess.

It is the end of May and I am still jobless. I have been searching and hunting and sending my resume, applying for jobs, calling up companies and going for interviews. I hope June is a better month where I would actually be blessed with a job. 

It has come to a point, I just need one so badly, be it admin or customer service etc, I need one that it well paying as a girl NEEDS cash! 

Pray and hope for me people that I will successfully be starting a job in June.

T.G.I.F

It was not a regular TGIF session. This is something that I love when something new happens. Everyone and more people were there. Vishnu and Puva came YAY!!!! But the sad part, Suraj & Sharlini weren't able to join us.

Dalan and I met up first and while I brought tonnes of food from home (Waffles, Twiggies etc...), he stopped by McDonald's to grab a Caramel Frappe and the new hype item! Nono, not the red burger but even better! The SPICY NUGGETS! The cutest part, it came in an Angry Birds box and it was friggin adorable!

Leave Sara to be the AWESOME Director, Fariz to work the Camera, Vishnu & CZY to give fighting tips (since it was a fight scene), Aideel & Dalan to be the main actors and they were great... so what does that mean? It means Ari, Vinod, Puva and me had just as much fun fooling around and messing with the camera, making jokes and my fav talking stories!

Puva was super stoked to do a scene with me but too bad the filming with Dalan & Aideel took almost 4 hours that the other scenes had to be postponed. It's okay we at least had a blast filming or being a part of it. I stayed till the end and earned a role of secretary hehehe.

No videos are gonna be shared until Sara compiles, edit and releases it. So, here's just some behind-the-scenes footage.

 Vesak Day

My family and I was supposed to go for some prayers thing at our relative's place but we had to stop by SGH first. Things were pretty okay and who knows why, my sisters and I all felt like dressing up. I was all decked out in pink and even tried on a new shade of lippie! 

We never did up going for the prayers and let's just say that 21st May led to 22nd May and I was at SGH throughout. More about this in another post. This post is titled Memorable May, it sure as hell was memorable, honestly, a night I'd never forget. But who said that all things we remember has to be good ones? 

Well enough of this as I shall leave the dark parts for another post and keep this post on a lighter note.

Celebs Like Me

For those of you who do not know, this website does this match thingy where you upload a photo of yourself and it gives you the celebrity that looks like you the most in % match and  3 other look a likes with lesser % below.

For some people, no matter how many various photos they upload, they get the same celebrity. For me, it was pretty interesting. I uploaded 3 different pictures, and I got 3 different celebrities.

The first and what made me shriek was seeing 38% Ariana Grande below! hahaha

Shaun Robinson appeared again and my comparisons clearly show that I was born to be a black girl! You see! I am entitled to say Nigga!!!! Hahaha

Also, when I was a kid, I did grew up having people mistake me for a black kid instead of an indian kid. They said it was the features, my skin color and my afro hair! Well I'm proud of 'em all!

Yay! I see Genelia D'Souza another gorgeous lady being compared with. Here's the thing. I have tweeted so many things in my life. I tweeted this 3 pictures and gained the most likes for 1 reason only, Aziz Ansari! Hell yea! He looks like my long lost brother from another mother! Up till now, I still can't help but laugh that I look a tad bit like Aziz Ansari with my short hair (at the time it was at it's shortest) and if I drew, sticked on or miraculously grew a beard and a mustache overnight!

Honestly, upload your picture and go see which celebrity you end up looking like. The best part, the answers may surprise you, shock you or like me, make you laugh for a solid 10 minutes!

Dangerous Woman

I am an Arianator. I ain't gonna lie! Ariana Grande may be tiny but MAAANNNN CAN SHE SING?! I love her voice, her look, her vibe. She's such a beautiful woman like I can't find a flaw on that gorgeous face, hair & body of hers!!!

On May 20, her latest album Dangerous Woman was released. I was waiting for it to be out in the stores in Singapore for me to lay my hands on them. 

I purchased her previous albums, but I must say this time it's not only showing her maturing but the vibe, song, lyrics, beat and feel is just so different. I love it!

Her single "Focus" was not included in this album as through interviews ot was said that it didn't fit the whole mood this album was going for. Some people even said Focus was a spin off of Problem. Focus did not last that long and did not do as well as Dangerous Woman, her first single for this album when it was out. 

I mean it, I purchased the album in hard copy and downloaded the whole album on my Spotify too! It's that good! Only some videos for her songs has been made and released.

Surprisingly, the copy I purchased was the Deluxe Edition and I was like Weeeeeeeee!!!!

This video featured Don from America's Next Top Model and MY OH MY! It's just a really fun & carefree, wild & sultry video! 

There were other collabs too such as with Macy Gray (Leave Me Lonely) & with Future (Everyday).

I was and honestly still am ADDICTED to one of her songs from this album. It is called Side To Side and features Nicki Minaj. The song has a reggae beat (YUP! YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT!) and with her powerhouse vocals and some pop elements added to it, it is a true masterpiece. 

IT IS MY JAM right now and has been ever since I heard it. I am sure it will be a HUGE success once the video is out too!!!

Prayers

 This portion here, not much shall be explained as I am saving and dedicating it to a whole other post. So, let me just share some selfies.

P.S: This was the time where I got really close to my cousin bro, (technically nephew but who cares) Habib, who is the only other person who is 20 years of age. I am really glad for all those bonding times. 

For those of you who follow my Snapchat: FloatinMacaroon, y'all would've seen his significant appearances on them towards the last week of May, Yes, he is single haha! Go for him, if you'd like. It's rare to find guys who are tall (he's 181 cm) and also super buff. It's even rarer when he's such a sweetheart and down-to-earth. Seriously girls, stop with the Fuck Boys, give a chance to the nice guys who has a hint of bad boy behavior in them. hahaha!

GURLS DAY OUT

Sangary and I made lunch plans and we went to Arab Street. Stop right there if you think that we are 2 exotic people who went to Shisha or do try some Turkish delights. Honestly, we might have till we both passed by Dominos and had our hearts set on that! 

We sat there eating and talking about anything and everything for ages and when we left, it felt like we only shared 20%. 

The whole day was filled with so many stories, snapchat moments, fun, laughter and EPIC memories! 

Our outfits happened to have matched the iconic walls through Haji Lane and we simply had to take our OOTD Alley Shots!

My fav video of the day. When you realize you can walk confidently and with no worry in the world because the friend with you is way more attractive and you can feel safe as she's the one who'll likely get raped! HAHAHA

I CANNOT believe that you think that you are the DUFF when you're with me. I mean it when I say it, you truly are a really gorgeous person on the outside and an even more beautiful person on the inside. 

I truly had a blast when I was with you and honestly, it's super nice to have some girl time after ages especially with someone who's a huge ball of fun!
