Digital Fashion Week - Singapore European Exchange 2014.
This year, it took place at the Natiobal Design Centre from 31 Oct - 3 Nov.
This blog will be FILLED with pictures from it.
From taking pictures while we models were waiting (that means the runways and all), to pictures that I took backstage while I was waiting for my next show and wasn't walking for the upcoming one (with the hunky male models and gorgeous female models), not to forget Jourdan!!! Who is she? Well you must be living under a rock! She is the winner for America's Next Top Model Cycle 20.
There's also several pictures of me which are on various instagram accounts
and people posting the runway outfits.
There are also videos of the runway and I have included the timings in which I appear.
I concluded the DFW segment of this post with a whole bunch of shagged or tired shots as the DFW had taken a toll on me.
Well, I'll let the pictures and videos do the talking. :)
I'm at 4h36mins onwards...
3 min 20 sec onwards...
2 min 37 sec - 8:00 mins (Laselle)
19 min 40 sec - 23:00 mins (NAFA)
32 min 40 sec - 37 min 30 sec (Raffles Design Institution)
Well, that was it. I really cannot be more thankful to Wee Teck for giving me such a wonderful opportunity. I want to thank Frederic for giving me a chance to cast and of course Nicolle and Rinna for being a bunch of familiar faces to make me feel a lil more fitted in. The other models were all really nice and I made some new friends, but it never beats having people you know already there to get you to feel more comfortable and settled in.
Like I said, my height was an issue but hey, I got to walk in DFW!!!!
I did not only book 1 but 2 shows! i couldv'e booked 3, the third being Christiano Burani but I didn't even cast for that show even though I was asked to because I felt that I have missed school enough. But I am glad I was decently liked.
Only problem would be the pay in which I hope will come ASAP as it's going to be a month..but oh well, I do not mind waiting as long as I got it.
One of my life goals as a small time model would be to do runways because I am just freelancing and am not with an agency. I LOVE photoshoots but I have always wanted to do runways too. I swear, I just didn't expect it to have happened so soon. I am really thankful and genuinely grateful.
In terms of runway, I guess all that I want to do would be given a chance to walk for a bridal show. I guess that would make the happiest girl alive and I can die a happy girl! Hahaha
Also, I do not mind getting into more photoshoots but that all can wait for a while.. school & all first.
So this concludes the end of the DFW segment and from here on, it's just a few pictures of me and also food.
Mama went for a knee operation recently and now she's at home and resting. These pictures was taken while I was on the bus on the way home after visiting her. I am just glad that the surgery went smoothly and my mum is a strong woman. In no time, she began walking again and I just want her to be fine.
It's about time m parents retire anyway but they both can be a bunch of workaholics.
I was occupying like 4 seats since I had the back portion of the bus to myself and I must say it was a comfortable and cozy journey.
Then it was time for some GOOD FOOD!!!
1. Spicy Carribean Chicken from LJS (My fav meal there)
2. Steamed Peanuts from thePasar Malam
3. Hershey's Pie from BK (HEAVENLY!!!!)
4. Cotton Candy from the Pasar Malam also - this was like $1.50 and it came in the CUTEST colors and I was just drawn to the packaging. The container made it look so so so so SOOO ADORBZ!!!
Well, that is all I have for now. Still feel so surreal that I walked for DFW. It is so rare to see black girls.. and I ain't even black, I'm indian. I know Diya walked for DFW last year. But I am just honored to be the only Indian to grace the runway with such top models and designers like Thomas Wee, Max Tan, Depression, Pauline Ning etc...
A real dream come true...
P.S: Sorry this post is being published almost a month late!!!
