L'OREAL X Just Acia X Vintage Empire

L'Oreal Hydrafresh Range

Over the past 18 years, I have never been interested in adopting a good skincare routine. I'd usually just use a cleanser, toner and some acne cream whenever I needed one. And that's it! I didn't even put in effort to moisturize my skin. I just didn't see the importance because I was going through puberty then and I had really oily skin. So I thought I didn't need to moisturize at all since my skin is constantly producing so much natural oil. The reason why excessive oil was produced is because I didn't pamper my skin well enough with moisture.

First of all, do you know that dry skin causes acne? That can come across as a bit of a shock because most of us (myself included) have always thought that breakouts only happen when our pores are clogged with excessive oil and dirt right? Well, think of it this way- when our skin gets too dry, it causes our body to naturally produce oil to replenish the lack of moisture. When this happens, inevitably, too much oil is produced which may lead to clogged pores and eventually acne! Also, the dry flakes from a dry skin may get caught in a pore, which clogs it up too which also leads to acne.

Therefore it is extremely important to make sure that the hydration level in our skin is balance to avoid those gross zits! Also, now that the temperature in Singapore has been really high causing the atmosphere to be humid also, for some of us (ME!!!), a lot of breakouts might happen (in my case has been happening) because of the weather causing my skin to be less hydrated. With Hydrafresh by my side now, I do believe that the condition of my skin will improve slowly but surely. :)

I personally don't like to experiment too much with facial products. I feel that as long as one works well for you, it's not necessary to change it. Also, skip the facials! As the very few ones that I've been to, I think about 3 at most hurts like CRAZY!!! Up till now, I don't understand the importance of going for facials that may burn a huge hole in one's pocket. But honestly, if you can attain great skin with just the help of products, you don't need facials. With that said, I've only tried about two or three different moisturizers in my life. Two of which worked wonders on my skin, and I'm going to talk to you about one of them today ;)

It's none other than the L'Oreal Hydrafresh Mask-In Water Gel!!!^^

First of all, don't worry about it being a mask. It is NOT a mask but it acts like one. The thing is instead of spending about half an hour waiting for a regular mask to work it's wonders; you only need about a few seconds to attain radiant and hydrated skin with the Mask-in Water Gel.

This moisturizer being water based is great for people like me who've always been battling with oily-combination skin. Unlike most moisturizers, I don't get that sticky or greasy feeling after applying this Mask-in Water Gel. It contains Double Hyaluronic Acid that penetrates deeply into one's skin. It basically locks in moisture from inside out giving you softer, smoother, and more intensely hydrated skin.

I guess you're all aware that the most interesting thing about the Hydrafresh range is how it contains French Grape Seed Extract. Do you know that grapes have the ability to fight free radicals thanks to it anti-oxidant power 50x that of Vitamin E and 20x that of Vitamin C.  It also neutralizes free radicals and radiation while increasing skin's ability to retain moisture and produce collagen, thus tightening skin and preventing the formation of fine lines. Guess what? These are only SOME of its many benefits!

Another key ingredient used in the Hydrafresh range is the French Vosges Spa Water! It is packed with 16 minerals that strengthen skin's moisture barrier, keeping it supple!!

For maximum hydration, use the entire range! Start off with the basics and use the Creamy Foam cleanser, followed by the Spa Water (toner), Mask-in Lotion (essence) and finally, the Mask-in Water Gel (moisturizer).

You'll be able to find the L'Oreal Hydrafresh range at leading retailers including Watsons. Guardian, SASA, selected Department store, and major hypermarkets :) Hurry to enjoy 20% off the entire range in June! I recently purchased mine as since all the products have a 20% discount, the total amounted to $65 instead of over $80 dollars like it was originally supposed to total up to.

Just Acia

Have y'all ever heard of this place? Well I did about a few months back but finally went for this with a bunch of friends recently. Sadly, all the photos taken got deleted somehow. I REALLY MUST FIX THIS PHONE OF MINE!!!

Well, I'm still going to talk to y'all about this place. All you have to bring is $10. Yup! You heard me right..$10. What about drinks? What if I want dessert? Fear not! Your questions will all be answered in the next few paragraphs.

Just Acia, is an eatery which named themselves the "Best of Asia Noodles & Rice Sets".  But what really caught my eyes was "Set meals from $5.90 with FREE FLOW of cafe mocha, cappucino, soft drinks and ice cream". Sitting down at the open space with many available seats, Just Acia have a wide variety of choices of Japanese, Korean, Thai and Chinese themed dishes.

Let me list down some of the meals that they had along with the prices.

Set Meals:

Spaghetti Meals:

Ramen / Udon  Meals:

Side Dishes:

I got 31. I wanted 30 as it was Aglio Olio (MY FAV SPAGHETTI OF ALL TIME) but I'm not that a huge fan of mushrooms so I decided to just go with 31, which was super creamy and had chicken!!!!

There were many Ice Cream flavors and also Mr Softie! I actually had ALL of them (a bit of each) except Mr Softie chocolate. Always a girl who prefers vanilla taste over chocolate. The ice cream scoops had flavors like Durian, Strawberry, Cookies & Cream, Mint, Blueberry and so on. They were delish but somewhat ordinary.

None of us ordered side dishes as c'mon! We all wanted more room for desserts! Why are we kids anyway if we had opted for side dishes over ice cream?! HAHA

My dish was rather thick so I got a little full and only managed 3 rounds of ice cream which was not that much. Regardless, for the $9.90 that it was spent on, it was totally worth it.

Here are some suggestions for those of you who want to mix
the free flow drinks with the ice cream...

And these are my ratings...

Vintage Empire

One of the things that I have always wanted would be a typewriter. Many of you may ask why? Technology has advanced so much, so why use such a thing? To be honest, I cannot really give you a full answer. I guess, I am a sucker for vintage items as they are more sentimental to me.

I do not mind making it a little modern but the vintage element has to be there. A perfect way to describe my personality and likes would be a girl who's vintage with a modern twist. Weird, but in fact true.

A typewriter is just one of the many few vintage items that I want to own. Here are a few others that I have yet to own or experience, be it small items, a place or anything at all.

Firstly, a boombox as I find that it holds more sentiments and most definitely looks WAAAYYY more cooler than just a regular radio. Following it would be cassettes. Remember when DVDs used to be all rectangular. Okay, this is more of a liking and NOT a MUST HAVE.

Records. You know those huge CDs where you put on Gramophones? Yes, a gramophone would be another item but more importantly a record. I think it shows a true appreciation and support of an artiste and that to me is a fan and not just recording their concerts and publicizing it to the whole world.

I loved the 60s - 70s (Grease Times) and one of the reasons would be because of the cafes. One element that I really love would be a Jukebox and whether or not I ever own one I do hope to try one someday.

Next, a vespa. Those classy scooters. This is not something that I wish to own but just ride on one when I go to Europe to a country like France and so on.

Lastly, a merry-go-round. I am not talking about those tiny ones you see in fun fairs but the HUGE ones at HUGE CARNIVALS! Remember the movie, Now You See Me..yeap something of those sort. It's not going to be possible in Singapore, but that doesn't mean that I can never experience it. One day.... I've rode on it once in Gold Coast, Australia and I felt real fuzzy and happy like a Princess. That was 8 years ago back in 2006. Perhaps a future ride in one of these amazing vintage items..? hehe

Similar to all of this, a typewriter. This is because of the sentimental value it to just type it all out, the words, the fonts, as it appears right in front of you.. how do you think J.K Rowling wrote the Harry Potter series?

I have been rambling so much about vintage items that I forgot to talk about the place Vintage Empire.

I googled a lot and came across this store on Facebook. It was the only store where you can go in and test them all out for yourself. They also come with free ribbons (nope, not decorations one but ribbon as in the ink). Per roll, last for about 1 - 2 years and they sell them for $10 each.

Now that it was GSS, I wanted to go over and buy one for myself.

It was a little tough to choose because the cute ones during GSS, was priced between $450 - $500. I mean OMG!!! That was really too much. I thought a pink or a mint one especially would be really cute. But what was the point? Where is the vintage element as aspect to it?

After much deliberation and learning how to use one from the owners, I settled for a beige colored vintage one called "brother" for $150. God Bless GSS! But that is one of the lighter ones and it weighed and astounding 4.5 - 4.8 kg and I had A LOT of difficulties lugging it around and making my way back and ensuring that it is not scratched in any way.

I cannot wait to use it!! Let it be a simple poem, a birthday card, a novel, or one of plans (as a future investment), guess I'll see how it goes I guess.

I LOVE all of it except the name. I am gonna make this beautiful vintage piece just a tad bit modern and a tad bit pretty. I'm planning to cover the word brother with the word Princess. And maybe a dash of pink and mint (hehe). Not the whole thing, just a teeny tiny bit! Make it more..Farhana? hehe

A happy and satisfied me that just had to rest after lugging it nearby the location itself.

It came with a luggage / briefcase thing that gave me blisters. But regardless, I'm gonna glam up this old vintage piece to be a little bit more fun, girly and modern yet maintain it's whole antique and vintage vibe.

I cannot wait to use my Prince. Yes, it'll be having a Princess sticker. But ALL of my devices are males after all. From my phone, to my laptop and even my camera. So this one is a boy too. And I've decided to name it Prince. The Princess sticker is to make it girly! HAHAHA

I simply cannot wait to start using this beautiful baby!!!!

If you're like me, and love vintage pieces, do visit their FB page and make an appointment with them and head over to buy yourself a typewriter. Hurry as prices are slashed to about 50% due to GSS.

This is NOT a paid ad, I am posting this out of my own interest and expeince in purchasing an amazing typwwriter which is almost close to impossibkle to find these days. Y'all can still result to purchasing it online..but think about the shipping fee you have to pay? What about not being able to check for any defects in person? Well, do consider this if you're a vintage lover just like me and have always wanted to be a proud owner of your very own typewriter.

While walking from Marine Drive (God Knows which MRT station that was), I walked from there to Payar Lebar when I was supposed to take the train from Eunos.

Anyways, the reason for that was because, I read Naomi Neo's blog and submitted a form and I got a call the next day which gave me an entitilemnet for 2 or 3 BottomSlim treatments for FREE and 1 additional one at the price of $2. God bless being 18! The whole session of the 3 - 4 treatments lasted for like 2 hours in which I was freezing cold.

I saved a tonne of money as usually it'll cost like $400 - $500 but I'm paying $2!!! Thank you Naomi!!!

The only crappy thing was that I couldn't really see the difference. I'm sure there was but oh well. I only went for the price. hehe

Anyway, thank you BottomSlim for handling me with such care!

This is a picture along (I have no idea where) while I was heading towards Payar Lebar MRT. It was a beautiful red, white and black 3 tiered wedding cake and the shop had so many lovely treats that I had to just buy the macaroons.

They didn't taste as good as Laduree ones but it was okay. I took a risk and surprisingly liked the taste of the chocolate lavender macaroon. That was amazeballs!!!

Well, here's the cake...

Thank you for reading this really long post!

I know school starts tomorrow and also Ramadan starts too for the Muslims. Well..PUSH ON!

xoxo
